Jacana Camp

<< Back

Jacana Camp is situated about 25 kilometres (15.5 miles) west of Mombo, outside the Moremi Game reserve on the Jao flats - a reserve of 60 000 hectares. It is a true water camp and offers mokoro safaris all year round. As the floodwaters recede, game driving and night drives in open 4x4 land rovers are available from October to March.

Jacana Camp has 5 small meru-style tents. Each tent is raised on a wooden deck overlooking the floodplains and has a private bathroom with flush toilet and shower. The main dining area is on the top floor of the elevated wooden deck between 2 magnificent Sycamore Figs, surrounded by dense Wild Date Palms.

Jacana Safari Camp in Botswana is a lovely little camp, tucked away, on an island, in the very heart of the Okavango Delta. In addition to the incredible natural beauty of the concession, the opportunity to see such rare creatures as Sitatunga Antelope or Pel's Fishing Owl are an absolute highlight of this Botswana safari. Jacana camp itself is simple and basic, but has all the safari comforts one might need.
